This is 100% how is love to labour next time (for me it isn’t the river but the sea next to our home). Labour started for me with water breaking (completely unexpected for me) and whether it was intuition or fear I didn’t enter the water as I had planned and I feel it would have felt lovely. I planned a birth pool not the sea, but alas it didn’t work out- but now I see how my environment was so not quantum. I know better now.

Yes! Your good environment will nourish your collagen which is what the amniotic sac is primarily made of and could help with making it further into labor with the waters intact next time 🧡 I also wouldn’t have been swimming if my waters had broken already.

Beautiful birth story! I had my 5th baby at the campground we lived/worked at last year. It was right on the beautiful Klamath River. I spend every day walking to the river through the woods while I awaited her arrival. The night she was born however I had spent the whole day just hanging around the cabin, tired and ready to be holding her in my arms, upset that nothing seemed to be happening. I fell asleep around 9:30pm, husband had to go move crab gear the next morning so he was at the harbor 30 miles away. At 11:04 I woke up to my water breaking, and at 11:24 I was standing in front of the washing machine in our hallway, laughing and holding our baby. Hubby walked in 5 minutes later. It was just me and our 7 year old who helped me lay the chux pads down and stood next to me while I gave birth to her only sister.
