Hi everyone! Many of you have been waiting patiently for me to compile a resource for you about ultrasound and Doppler monitoring in pregnancy and labor.

What I find, over and over, are comparison studies between monitoring vs more monitoring.

But comparison of monitoring vs no monitoring in the modern era is rare.

With Doppler vs no Doppler it’s slightly better because they can do Doppler vs fetoscope, but still difficult to find monitoring heart tones vs not monitoring them.

When I can find research about either technology be no technology, it’s often confounded by socioeconomic factors and other issues of low resource settings or are in reference to old ultrasound technologies that are not the same as the ones in use today.

Additionally, use of ultrasound results in many more abortions of babies with developmental abnormalities, and this even further skews the outcome data.
