Allergies, thyroid, and metabolism through a seasonal quantum lens
💬 Updates and Happenings in October
Hello, friends! The season shift is in full swing and we are busy at home collecting orchard fruits, stacking firewood, and preparing to welcome the rain this Fall will inevitably bring. What are days looking like for you lately?

Upcoming heat/cold therapy post
I have a lovely post coming up for you about the dichotomy of heat therapy and cold therapy, and how these opposites can work together to benefit your energy.
The short of it will be teaching about how heat therapy supports mitochondrial activity in the moment, whereas cold therapy improves your health over time.
It’s very appropriate for Fall.
Get ready for winter challenge
For group support with the seasonal change, my colleague Carrie Bennet is hosting a Prep for Winter Challenge. At only $1 per lesson, it’s highly worth it (especially if you are one of those people who think they hate winter). Here’s where you can check the challenge out.
Gentle nudge: it is your daily effort to make meaningful connection with the solar cycle at all times of the year (not just when it is nice out) that entrains your body to your current time and place for optimal function.
My post coming up on October 1st will be a nice follow up to the ones I put out last month about seasonal methylation rhythms and the seasonal activity of the hormone prolactin.
These are both in the archive where you can catch up or read them again:
Continuing on the of seasonality, a while ago I put out a post sharing research about the thyroid’s role in epigenetic signaling—and several reached out after that post with various insights from the way thyroid is talked about in German New Medicine, to questions about thyroid medications. In the post I wrote, I alluded how our food diet must be activated by our light diet in order for our hormones and neurotransmitters to signal properly.
Thyroid, diet and season
I thought this seasonal shifting moment right now might be a nice time to revisit thyroid health, as well as the connection between diet and season. Here are a couple posts from the archive about that:
And if you really would like to go further into this topic, I highly recommend my friend
’s publication. She has been doing amazing work teaching on quantum health topics. Last month, she elucidated the connections between hydration and allergies, and this month, it was about the thyroid.Quantum health for allergies
As many of you know, I got into circadian health as kind of a fluke—my husband discovered Jack Kruse’s work while we were pregnant with our first child and we started making changes. Previously, I had suffered from crippling seasonal allergies and allergic contact dermatitis (on my eyelids! It was so miserable!). After a year of improved lighting conditions, I noticed it was a “mild allergy year.” Then the next allergy season came, and it was even milder. Eventually, it dawned on me I hadn’t had an attack at all in years—dare I say I was healed?

My struggles with allergies were not something I thought of as connected to my light environment, but since stabilizing my lights, I no longer would say I have allergic problems.
I’ve told this story several times, but have yet to do a big deep dive into the connections between the immune system and quantum health. Since I haven’t had the time to put a teaching resource together for you, it was very exciting to attend Amanda’s recent allergy webinar and see that she had put all the pieces (and more!) together on this. I would say it is a must-watch for anyone struggling with allergies in their home. Here’s where you can check out the allergy webinar and get a subscription to start attending the live ones with us. The recordings are great, but if you attend live, we do a group rhythmic movement training session for primitive reflex integration that is really great and not included in the recordings.
Fall 2025 cohort at IAQB

In other news, we are getting ready to welcome a new cohort at the Institute of Applied Quantum Biology (IAQB) where I serve as the Director of Research. The program is for healthcare practitioners who want a solid foundation in using these circadian and quantum protocols in their practices. The IAQB is a 501c3 nonprofit school accredited by the American Naturopathic Medical Association (ANMA). If you are interested in joining, here’s where you can start your application: Apply for certification in applied quantum biology
Circadian and quantum research compendium
I created a research compendium last year to put together relevant studies for all the most common questions I get about quantum health. It’s available as a standalone product with the option to add access to my full Zotero research library (big discount for my Substack readers included automatically at this link).
My research compendium can help you answer questions such as:
How good & bad is sunlight for you?
How can I protect myself from the sun?
How bad is artificial light and how can I protect myself from it?
How bad is environmental radiation and how can I protect myself from it?
How good is grounding for you?
How real is quantum biology and how can quantum health benefit me?
And each of my answers in the compendium includes links to the studies I used to come to the conclusions I have about these things.
1-1 consultation packages
For direct support, I offer custom coaching packages. I paused in the Spring, but am now open again for a few slots. I have found I can’t take on more than about 6 at a time, and I currently have 3 ongoing. This means I’ll be closing the booking links down as soon as I lock in the next 3 through the door. How it works:
Sign up for an initial 90 minute consultation through my Calendly
(optional) Start a 4 session or 12 session annual coaching program
Note: there are separate booking links on my Calendly depending on if you are a parent (or hoping to become one) looking for home and fertility support or if you are a practitioner in need of support growing and building your practice through quantum health.
All of my coaching programs require the initial 90 minute consultation so we can go deep initially, and then my coaching programs all last a year so we can get the full spread of experience together over time. Depth + Breadth is a winning combination for transformation.
